Arctic Adventure

The Arrigetch Peaks, meaning ‘Fingers of an outstretched hand’ in Inupiat, are composed of jagged granite spires that lead your eyes to wander towards the heavens. Ancient and shrinking glaciers, steep rock faces, unpredictable weather, and extremely remote, this area is not for the inexperienced. We will spend 8 days in the wilderness hiking and exploring all the hidden gems the arctic keeps out of reach and under snow most of the year.

Itinerary

August 12: Make your way to Fairbanks on your own schedule. That evening your guide will meet with you before departure to double check your gear, go over the itinerary, and answer any lingering questions you may have regarding the trip.
*food and lodging not included

August 13: We will leave Fairbanks early in the morning to start our adventure. Boarding a charter flight in Fairbanks we will head to Bettles and weather permitting we will board another bush plane and head for the Brooks Range.
*flights, lunch and dinner included

August 14 - 20: We will work our way over mountain passes, scree slopes, play in alpine lakes, endeavor to bag some peaks, explore some glaciers and enjoy the solitude. Of course to get a true sense of Alaska and its character we will do some bushwhacking and traversing tussocks(feel free to search those or leave it for a surprise on our trip). Our guides have years of experience in the wilderness of Alaska and want to share their hard earned knowledge with YOU.
*all meals included

August 21: After coffee and breakfast we will prepare for departure and soak up the last bit of wilderness. All too soon the drone of the airplane engine will prep us to re-enter the life we left. We will enjoy the last bit of our time in the Arctic and catch a flight back to Fairbanks to complete the trip of a lifetime!
*all meals in the backcountry and transport back to Fairbanks included

**As with all BA trips we strive to stick to our itinerary as best as possible but ask our clients to remain open to the possibility of change. The state is large, the weather is unpredictable, and the regions we endeavor to reach are remote. With that in mind please read the above itinerary as a rough outline of what to expect but be prepared for the unknown. More on this under Bush Flying 101.
